03-03-2004 – The Memorandum of Understanding for SAC-D/Aquarius construction in Argentina was signed : In Buenos Aires a Memorandum of Understanding which gives formal status to the decision to construct fully in Argentina the joint space mission SAC-D/Aquarius was signed.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Jorge Taiana, vicechairman of the Board of the Argentine Space Agency CoNAE and the Administrator of NASA, Sean O´Keefe, signed in Buenos Aires a Memorandum of Understanding which gives formal status to the decision to construct fully in Argentina the joint space mission SAC-D/Aquarius whose prime misssion is the study of the salinity of the Oceans from space.

The satellite and other payloads will be entirely integrated by our company, which has been designed prime contractor of the project. Other members of the Argentine Scientific Community and local private subcontractors will also have a participation in this project.

The good international standing of INVAP in space is made evident by the fact that NASA entrusts a 200 m USD project to a satellite platform of Argentine design, construction and integration.
