NUCLEAR WASTE
28 October 2002
The Bar Association of Buenos Aires City holds the view that the
agreement signed by the Argentine government and Australia to allow the Argentine Republic to receive and recycle waste of nuclear origin does not violate the Argentine Constitution, which makes reference only to the need toprevent that our country becomes a “Nuclear Dump”.
The agreement is highly favourable to Argentina, for it allows carrying out tasks in the field together with the most industrialized nations.
The sums to be paid in this case by Australia will serve to maintain the high level of technology reached in the field by Argentina, which has gained international recognition.
