The new Argentine Primary Radar (RPA, in Spanish) station was inaugurated in Tostado, Province of Santa Fe, in the presence of national authorities and representatives of INVAP, the company that developed the device.

The Minister of Defense, Luis Petri; together with the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier Xavier Isaac; the Chief of the Air Force, Brigadier-General Fernando Luis Mengo; and representatives of INVAP, Engineer Gabriel Absi (Deputy General Operating Manager) and Engineer Javier Conti (Manager of the Defense, Security and Environment Area), inaugurated a new RPA station in Tostado, Province of Santa Fe.

The system provided by INVAP to the Air Force is the eighth one provided by the national company, a reference in technological projects, which is added to the network of radars deployed in strategic points of the country. The initiative contributes to reinforce surveillance and defense coverage of Argentine airspace in one of the areas most affected by drug trafficking.

The facility includes its associated infrastructure and a radome on a concrete tower, a technological breakthrough that reaffirms the country’s ability to develop and manage high-level defense technology.

The development of these radars represents a significant achievement for Argentina’s technological sovereignty, as they not only reinforce national security, but are also proof of the country’s leadership and ability to innovate in the field of defense technology.

With the incorporation of this new radar, Argentina takes another step towards the consolidation of an autonomous and technologically advanced air defense network, reaffirming its commitment to national development and security. This milestone is another example of the teamwork that we have been carrying out for more than 20 years with the Argentine Air Force and the support of the Ministry of Defense, in this development that consolidates INVAP as an international leader in this type of technological products.
