On March 20th, in the framework of the First Latinamerican Symposium of Telecommunications, Culture and Digital Inclusion “Patria Grande Conectada” (A Nation Connected), Mr. Marcelo Fernández Masero, an engineer working for INVAP in the Digital TV Project, took part in the Conference “Infrastructure development towards a connected nation”.
The discussion panel, moderated by Mr. Ceferino Namuncurá, head of the National Communications Commission, was also formed by Mr. Lucas Vicente, CEO of the Information Systems and Technology Unit (UPSTI) of the province of Formosa; Mr. Javier Cobresi, Chairman of La Rioja Telecommunications (SAPEM); Mr. Arturo Castaño, Chairman of ECOM CHACO S.A. (Chaco) and Mr. Pedro Báez, Minister of Culture and Communications of the province of Entre Rios.
The panel discussed the synergy between national and provincial policies for the development of telecommunications infrastructure, the advances in Digital Open Television coverage, the fiber-optic network, the progress of the submarine fiber optic cable installation across the Strait of Magellan and the presentation of the National Data Center.
The goal of the Latinamerican Symposium of Telecommunications, Culture and Digital Inclusion “Patria Grande Conectada”, organized by the Ministry of Federal Planning, Public Investments and Services is to reflect the daily commitment of each of the activities developed by the National Telecommunications Plan “Argentina Conectada” to implement Digital Open TV (TDA) and to carry out the recently announced National Plan “Igualdad Cultural” (Cultural Equity).
The Symposium took place at Tecnopolis Fair Center on March 19-21, 2012.
